What's included ? - 2 FULL DAYS (lunch included) RUNNING SUNRISE TO SUNSET ACROSS 6 LOCATIONS. + after course online Post-Editing class

Outline and Locations: 

 

Day 1: This full day workshop starts off with Sunrise at Kimmeridge Bay in Dorset which is one of the top photographic locations on the Jurassic Coast, packed with incredible views and unique features that offers an endless stream of incredible shooting opportunities. We then move onto Swanage and Peveril Point for our mid day session which is a location known well by many, and one which always offers stunning views and shooting possibilities. After a lunch in Swanage, our final destination for late afternoon and Sunset on Day 1 will be Old Harry's Rocks which gives great views of the white cliffs and views over to Studland.

Day 2: Our day starts at Lulworth cove looking over the incredible Stair Hole and Lulworth bay, before we move onto Portland for our mid day session. Portland offers a fantastic mix of both natural and manmade features which gives a huge range of shooting opportunities. After a late lunch at the Lobsterpot Cafe we move to our final destination for late afternoon and sunset at Lyme Regis and the famous Cob.

What is covered on the course ?:  Over the course of the 2 days we will run through all the core and advanced elements of seascape photography which will include -

Location choice and preparation.

Understanding Light and how it affects both mood and texture.

Our Eyes vs the Camera.

Dynamic Range and the use of Filters / Multiple Exposures.

Framing and Composition / subject choice.

Wide angle Vs Zoom.

Short / Long / Ultralong exposures.

Focus Stacking.

Shooting Monochrome.

Advanced Monochrome with Digital Filters

ICM Creative and Abstract imagery.

What is included:  The course fee includes all tuition and lunch on both days, plus a 2 hour post editing session which will be run online within 1 week of the course where we will run through a selection of images from the session looking to perfect our editing techniques. 

 

Excluded: Attendees will be required to use their own transport between locations although the distances are fairly short between each location** - Please note that there are parking charges at all locations although these are fairly moderate. Attendees should also be aware that they are responsible for their own travel/kit insurance whilst on the course. The host accepts no liability for any injury or damage caused to equipment whilst on the course.

Traveling from other regions: - If you require any help securing accommodation if traveling from other regions please get in touch and we will be happy to help where we can.

Physical difficulty and what to bring: - Most locations are within a short walking distance of parking, although Lulworth cove/Stair Hole does include some a fairly steep inclines, All locations involve some walking on uneven ground and/or across potentially rocky areas, so attendees should be of a reasonable physical fitness and without any physical disability of such a nature that may put you at risk.

This course is primarily designed for those using a DSLR or Mirrorless system with interchangeable lenses. You should also bring along memory cards, spare batteries and a Tripod, + any filter systems you may wish to use. For those without filters, there may be the option to borrow a set for the duration. Please also ensure that you dress accordingly for the conditions including where appropriate waterproof gear and sturdy footwear/boots. 

Course fee and booking: - The full course fee is £240.00 p/p which includes a £120.00 deposit to secure. The course balance will be due no later than 1 month prior to the course date. Cancelation policy: You can cancel your course at any point subject to the following terms.

If you wish to cancel a workshop booking you must advise us in writing/email at least 30 days before the workshop commencement date. For cancellations made within this time you will be refunded the workshop fee, less the deposit. or the chance to move to an alternate date. For cancellations made less than 30 days before the workshop commencement date you will be liable for the full workshop fee.

In the unlikely event we have to cancel a workshop due to extreme weather or other reason beyond our control, we will contact you as soon as is reasonably possible. Upon cancellation, we will offer you a full refund of your payment (including deposit), or you can transfer any payments already made to one of our other Workshops.

** Due to the recent huge increases in hire charges for mini-buses which are now in excess of £350.00 p/day in many cases, we have recently made the decision NOT to include this facility in the interests of keeping course fees to a reasonable level.
